Fun with firewood

Hank Knight
Several years ago I noticed an interesting log in my firewood stack. I brought it in and sawed it into small boards on the bandsaw. Some of the quarter sawn ones were pretty. I stickered them to dry on my shorts shelf and forgot about them. A month or so ago the cardboard box for my Norton combination crystolon/india stone finally gave up the ghost, so I needed to build a stone box. I remembered my firewood stash, which turned out to be cherry (thanks for the ID Bill). It was perfect. I added a strip of bloodwood for interest and knocked this little box together over a weekend. Stewie's post about his wonderful stone box prompted me to post mine.
