#1- Stanley #75 bull nose rabbet plane. Early type. Iron stamped "STANLEY RULE/-&-/LEVEL CO." $25

#2- Stanley #5C jack plane. Three-patent Type 11. Earlier T-logo iron with 1-3/4" left on it. Japanning looks v. good but may be a repaint. A couple of chips and minor cracks in knob. Tote looks like a well-made replacement but it's a tropical hardwood and pretty nice. $30

#3- Stanley #5C jack plane. Two-patent Type 9. Earlier Q-logo "PAT AP'L 19 92" with 1-1/4" left on it. Easy-to-fix tight crack near base of tote. Knob has some toolbox dings but no cracks. Needs a good cleaning so it's hard to tell how much japanning is left; maybe 50-60%. $30

#4- Stanley #78 rabbet and fillester plane. Depth stop and fence are MIA. Sweetheart blade has most of the meat left on it. Most of japanning missing from handle and outside surfaces. Small piece broken off near blade depth adjuster that should not affect function. $25

#5- Stanley #5-1/2 wide jack plane. Three-patent Type 11. Earlier T-logo iron blade with 1" left on it. Tote has a crack, probably repairable. Knob has a chip out of the base but no cracks. Japanning is maybe 25% (I'm bad at judging this). Blade adjustment nut is unusual solid brass. $50

#6- Stanley #4-1/2 wide smoothing plane. Three-patent Type 11. Earlier T-logo iron blade with 1-1/4" left on it. Tote has a repairable crack. Knob has some minor dings but has gorgeous grain. Japanning is maybe 90% with most of the loss on the toe. Some numbers are stamped on the left side of the sole (19 and overstruck 14) but this won't affect use at all. This is a very nice plane and the photos do not do it justice. $75

#7- Stanley #4 Two-patent Type 9. Earlier Q-logo "PAT AP'L 19 92" with 1" left on it. Repairable crack near base of tote. Knob has a chip and a few minor cracks but is tight. 80-90% japanning remains on this sweet old plane. $35

#8- Stanley #4 Type 15. 1/2" left on KK logo blade; good reason to upgrade to a Spehar or Hock. Most of japanning gone from toe of plane but most remains on the heel; go figure. Very tight crack in tote but it's still in one piece. A couple of cracks at base of knob that can be glued back in place. $30

#9- Stanley #78 rabbet and fillester plane. U.S. PAT. 6-7-10 Depth stop is there but no fence. Sweetheart blade has about 7/8" left on it. Most of japanning is missing from the handle and outside surfaces. $30

Mike
