Who Says Woodturning Isn't Cutting Edge?

>Who says woodturning isn't on the cutting edge? As evidence, this Fall, Nissan will begin putting a continously variable transmission (CVT) in selected models. The manufacturer claims increased gas mileage by eliminating "a repetitive cycle of shifting" on hills. The accompanying diagram of the transmission looks very much like that of a Reeves drive.
