>Gary Your right it really doesn't matter. You want to imagine the biggest piece you might make and make them taller than that. They don't even have to be square. Sometimes I make the sides taller so the panels can be placed closer to the piece. This gives less shadows but sometimes they show up as a reflection in really glossy pieces.

The ones I use when I teach my classes are 24" square. That seems to be a good size. The ones I use most often at work are 24 x 36. This lets me make the both tall or short, wide or narrow depending on how I set them up. I also have 30x30 panels for bigger work and some 16x16 that I use for small work and jewelry.
