Safety Tip

Bert Smith
>Last night I was turning a blank using one of the screw - on type tool rests; the type that lets you interchange different length bars on a threaded post. Evidently the vibration from roughing out the bowl loosened the bar, and it spun into the wood, breaking my thumbnail and generally causing a good scare.
From now on I will tap the bar with a wooden mallet to make sure there is a tight connection, which is probably mentioned in the instructions that I neglected to read...
Just thought I'd pass this along.
Have a great and safe weekend,
Bert
