Screwed up oak bowl

>It has been a few months since I have turned anything. Senile lethargy I guess. I had a
piece of red oak on the shed floor so I decided to turn a natural edged bowl. Got the pilot hole for the screw chuck crooked and shelved the idea. Cut the natural edge part off and had a much smaller blank. I rough turned the resulting blank for the DNA bath and made it a half inch thick. WRONG, DON!!!!! Should have followed BGs advice to make the rim thicker. The rough bowl warped too much to make the nice curve I had planned for the sides. I did the best I could with what was there and this is the mangy result. Of course it had to happen with the nicest piece of wood I have had since Carole sent me the box elder blank. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!
