Subject:
Identifying logs

Steve Woodall
>Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to turning. I have been enjoying turning green wood lately, mostly because I find the logs free. I am trying to find information on identifying the logs I find. It is not easy to find info without the leaves. Is there a good way to identify wood without the leaves. (bark maybe?)

I live in southeastern Virginia, if that helps. Are there any good sites on the web?

Thanks everyone,
Steve
