Subject:
What would you do with cherry logs??

Bill MacLachlan
>I was offered 2 cherry logs today that are supposed to be approx. 8" in diameter and 7 feet long. Of course, I said I would take them. The guy is asking $20.00 for the pair. We are to get together soon to cut them into workable lengths. How would you cut them? I was thinking 12-18" logs. What would you make with the wood? They almost seem to small to make bowls, if I cut down the center to eliminate the pith. Would you leave at the 8" diameter and work end grain?
Nice problem to have!! Thanks, Bill
