Subject:
Carving letters on turned items

Peter Charles Fagg (UK)
>I have been asked to cut the name of a child and its date of birth onto the flat face of a platter. I am no mathematician and every time I roughly pencil on the letters it either looks terrible or is unequally spaced or just looks downright rubbish! Does anyone know the secret OR is there possibly some software that can be employed to give me the correct dimensions etc? Please remember I am not a mathematician, I can speak 3 languages but this calculation stuff is really beyond my comprehension. Regards Peter.
