Help! thinning wipe-on poly--Russ, or?

Ken Grunke from SW WI
>My can of Minwax wipe-on poly is starting to get a tiny bit syrupy. It's still quite fluid, but dries faster than it did a week ago because I left the cap off a couple times. I'm having trouble with wipe marks, because of it.

Need to get a couple pieces ready for delivery on Saturday to the Contemporary American Woodturner exhibit at the Rochester Arts Center in Minnesota, deadline is Tuesday!

I'm trying to decide if I should make the special trip into town just for a new can (1/2 hr drive) or can I thin it with mineral spirits? I'll get a new can on Saturday, but my submissions have to be on the road by then unless I can do one-day shipping on Monday.
Yikes!!
