>While glancing through the list of demonstrators for the AAW symposium in Louisville, I couldn't help but notice the number of demo's with design as the topic. At least five.

As recently as two or three years ago, the topic was "taboo" at the national level. I was told by aaw brass that there never had been a successful design demo at that level, and attempting one would result in a career-ending failure.

I have a couple of theories concerning the change of attitude, and I would be interested in your feelings... for instance, would you consider attending one? Why, or why not? What would you expect to gain by attending? Why is the topic gaining in acceptance?

What topics could be covered in a design demo that would benefit turners in the audience the most? Do you think design can be taught, or is it something that either you have, or don't have?

Your thoughts?
