Subject:
a question of pricing

Tony
>Okay. So using info gathered here, I've been pricing my bowls between $7-$10 per inch, since I'm basically starting out selling. Now when I sell on my own, like craft fairs, this works out fine...but what do you guys do wrt selling in galleries etc, where they take 40 to 60%?
If I adjust my price for that it turns a $70 dollar ten inch bowl into a $140-50 dollar bowl, which--while I've seen them in places, just seems high to me.
Or do you just not sell to galleries and shops?

I'm a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen, and have been getting some pressure to put bowls in the shops to "support the shops", but I don't like the idea of getting paid half what my bowl is worth.

What's the happy medium?
