Subject:
finishing apology

John Lucas
>I'm sorry If my post on finishing rubbed anyone the wrong way. I have been there, using finishes that either don't work like I want or aren't compatible and have to be removed. What I was trying to say is don't "experiment" with finish on a good finished turning. There is a lot of good information out there on finishing, especially in this newsgroup. Ideally we should read all we can and try to make an intelligent decision on a finishing technique. Then try it on a scrap piece. Each of us has a slightly different technique and what works for me may not work for you. I didn't mean to sound like I was fussing about people posting here with finishing questions. That's what this group is all about so my apologies if I came off that way.
