Subject:
Huicongo palm pot *PIC*

Jim King
>As the palms grow with a spongy center for years I have been thinking but obviously not very well how to turn a bowl or what ever without any place to mount the face plate. Yesterday while playing with the fibreglass resin I hollowed out a small palm log and mixed the resin with black fine sawdust and poured it in the log. Today it was ready to turn and this is the result. Next project is a large red palm bowl with an edge glued palm board base jambed in the bottom and held in place with the sawdust resin mixture. This experiment was a small one 6 in dia and 4 tall.
