Subject:
Would chucks work for inside-out turning

Bill Howatt
>Hi,
I am thinking of trying an inside-out turning. I know the recommended method is to glue up the pieces using paper and then split apart for final assembly and turning. I do recall seeing a clip of somebody doing one and he had a special shopmade chuck that fit his pieces.

I have a Oneway Stronghold and Talon which are supposed to hold square stock. I also have a Oneway Live Center and an adapter for the Talon to screw onto the center.

Can I assemble my 4 blanks and mount in the Stronghold and the other end in the Talon? Will this hold them tightly so the final assembly will have a good joint?

Thanks,
Bill
