Gloves in a Bottle? *LINK*

>Whilst turning ornament finials I developed a nasty poison ivy like rash on my hands from one of several tropical woods. I wash up after turning but did not soon enough or well enough. I will steer clear of the suspected wood but wonder about additional precautions I could take to minimize a recurrence.
There is a hand cream 'Gloves in a Bottle' which claims to inhibit the drying of skin and the absorption of nasty stuff into the skin by forming a temporary bond to the outer layer of skin.
I guess the goal is to lessen sensitization.
