Subject:
Lesson learned, I think. (buffing)

Barry Irby
>I have the Bealle buffing system and generally like it. I got the idea that if you buffed before you put the finish on it might be even better. About two or three weeks ago I buffed a cherry bowl, tripoli and White diamond, (Not the Carnuba) and sprayed it with Deft gloss lacquer. Several coats. Let it cure for at least two weeks. Tonight I buffed it again. Or at least I tried. The finish came off almost like removing a piece of shrink wrap. At least about 95% of it did. What a mess. The rest hung on as if it had been baked on. Re sanded the bowl and started over. I won't be trying that again.
