Subject:
CA glue as pen finish

Paul in Phoenix, AZ
>I tried finishing pens with CA glue yesterday and had a devil of a time doing it. I would sand to 400 grit, add a couple of coats of CA and start sanding with 400 again after it set up. I sanded up to 2000 grit but I seem to sand it all off. Then I started over with the CA and started sanding with 600 to 2000 grit (I don't have any micro-mesh). I did this a couple more times and finally got a finish I liked. It seemed like this took an hour to do for each pen. What am I doing wrong? Is this how it always works when finishing pens with CA? How do you folks who finish pens with CA do it?

Thanks,
Paul
