Subject:
Question about finishes

Jim Rutten
>Hello Fellow Turners,

Now that Thanksgiving is past I have to start thinking about Christmas. One of my nephews goes in costume to the Renaisance Fairs and has asked me for a couple of usable bowls that could be from that time period (1450-1600). At first I was just going to wax the bowl with the beal buffing system, but I got to thinking about if he put hot food in it it would melt the wax. What would you do? would you just leave it without any finish? I am probably going to use maple or walnut. Thanks in advance for the help.
