>I have always thought turning seemed like a really neat thing to do but never got around to it until this week. Snagged a bottom of the line mini Fox lathe at a flea market for $50 thinking it might be good to make replacement plane knobs (That's right - I'm one of THEM!). On my first three attempts I ended up with three handles for some old socket chisels, one each of walnut, lacewood and bocote. Can anyone point me to some very basic info. on angles to sharpen and hold common shape blades? Or a good video so I can actually see some proper technique? I think I'm hooked. Thanks much.
