OT, brass instruments *LINK*

>If you play brass you may be interested in the web page below. It has photos of brass instruments being built. I've done some minor solder repair of instruments and know how hard it is to make it look half-way decent. It is nothing less than astounding to see how a perfect bell is made starting with cutting and pounding flat sheet stock with a mallet.

BTW, I found this page while browsing the Bugles Across America web site. Thanks to David B. here who posted information about BAA a month or so ago. ( http://www.woodcentral.com/cgi-bin/turning.pl?frames;read=86037 ) I've since acquired a bugle (without keys) and am practicing Taps. I play the french horn but haven't played the trumpet since the '60s - the differences in mouthpieces alone makes the bugle a challenge for me!
