Subject:
British Television vs Reality Shows

Stuart Johnson
>My wife and I have pretty well given up on current t.v. and have started watching some BBC and A&E stuff. Jane Marples or Hercule Poirot always catch the crooks and Jeeves gets Wooster out of a jam. Some of the best parts of these shows are the woodwork, paneling and turnings used as prop displays. In one recent Jeeves and Wooster I lost control of the remote over a burl pedestal dish. I am no longer allowed to stop the show and back it up to view any background items.

How many of you spend more time looking at background items as the actual show? Look at the items on the shelf behind whoever is being interviewed. It is amazing many plates, bowls and hollow forms are displayed just on the newsmaker interviews.
