Yellow Birch Burl *PIC*

George Van in WI
>Well after roughing bowls for a year and a half I finally have blanks I can finish. It was a good way to practice with a gouge and get rid of a few the “catches”. It is fun to be able to finally complete something to a finished form. Thanks all for the help I have been given in the past.

This is from a yellow birch burl a fellow had sitting on his deck for two years before bringing it to me to make into a bowl. It would have been larger if it weren’t so badly checked from the weather. 11.5”x3.5”, finished with oil/varnish and buffed. This is also my first attempt with my new “frugal” photo tent.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
