Subject:
Incra Miter 5000 Owners??? HELP!!

Rob Ceraso
>I'm looking for some guidance here. After over a year of contemplating, I finally took the plunge and ordered the Incra Miter 5000 sled system. Much to my disappointment, when it arrived both of the MDF sled panels were badly warped. A call to Incra and another pair were on their way. They arrived last night and guess what... Yup, just as badly warped as the first pair.

I can't believe that I'm the first person to have this problem and I was wondering if any of you have the Miter 5000 and if you've experienced anything similar?

I'm a little more than concerned that even if I do eventually get a pair of panels from them that are flat, how long will it be before they too warp in my shop. The whole concept behind the Incra miter gauges is dead-on repeatable accuracy. How accurate can it be if the sled rocks on the saw table?

Do I return it and look for an alternative or do I keep the faith and keep trying? Any experience or just general guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
