Need some wood help

>I just picked up a piece of wood from my local supplier - not for any specific project but just because it had nice color and some nice mottled figure. It was marked "mahogany" but didn't really look or feel like mahogany. The guy there said it was "mahogany decking" or "Malaysian mahogany" which he said isn't really mahogany but that's what they call it (whoever "they" are). He didn't seem to know if there was another name for it.

Has anyone heard of or worked with this stuff before? Just trying to get some info (how does it turn, cut, glue, finish, etc.) before I use it for anything.

Thanks in advance,
Rob
