Subject:
Cherry Hollow Vessel

Barry Turner
>I spent part of the afternoon turning a cherry burl into a small hollow form. Its about 7" in diameter and about 4" tall. It has a rounded bottom, a slightly curved top and a sharp shoulder. I am hollowing through a 2" opening with a 5/8" shank hand-held Kelton hollowing tool. I also turned a small 7" X 1 1/2" maple bowl with some fiddle back grain. It's been a good day.
