Turning Archive 2005
>I turned this down to the stage where you start sanding. Then I dobbed on some Rit purple fabric dye that had been sitting on our laundry shelf for years, just used a Q-tip. Rubbed it with a paper towel with the lathe turning to dry it with friction. Then dripped some CA on to make it more stable, sanded, and finished with friction polish. Much less expensive than the pricey dyed and stabilized blanks you can buy, expecially considering the blank was cut from a scrap. Took about 20 minutes.
