Subject:
Life Expectancy of a Oneway Live Center?

Jennifer@Indy.USA
>Hi everyone. Anybody know what the life expectancy of a Oneway live center should be? I’m noticing some play in mine that is affecting some of my projects, especially my pen turning. I can actually wiggle the threaded part that the aluminum cones screw onto. Mine is about 3.5 years old. It's never been dropped, nor do I abuse it with big out of round pieces. I've always heard don't crank the tail stock down too hard for various reasons that could affect headstock and live center bearings so I'm good about watching that too. Can I replace the bearing inside? Anybody else have issues with this? I’m rather bummed. I really wasn’t planning on replacing this, this soon.

Thanks for any advice.

Jennifer
