Subject:
Sorby Hollowmaster revisited

DWFII
>I have a further question...I went to change the cutter on my Sorby to the right side as you depict in your photo, but the back end of the cutter sticks way out past the shaft of the tool. This would make hollowing through a small opening extremely difficult or even hollowing "around the corner," if you know what I mean, almost impossible--under the shoulder of a tall tapered vase for instance.

What am I missing? Configured like this, the tool seems less versatile than witht he cutter on the left side...but I haven't tried using it with the cutter on the right side yet so I can't even say if it cuts better.

Please comment...anyone...
