Subject:
turning green pen blanks

John Coco
>I have a piece of comphor burl and intend to use it in a new hobby that im just getting into, pen turning. However the wood is supposed to be (green to partially air dry). What do I need to do to make sure that the wood does not crack after I turn it. Or should I have to wait for it to dry about 6 months before fooling with it. My turning skills is limited to a a few spindles and a chess set, and this is my first piece of wood that is not kiln dryed.

Thanks for any help.
