Turning Archive 2005
>I'm going to take the plunge, my shop partner and I are going to resurrect an old craftsman single tube, 70's vintage, which we picked up at a club auction for $15, sans motor. I just got a call from a buddy who has a craftsman motor of similar vintage, which we can get for free! We will thus have a complete older model lathe for $25 including a new drive belt. It won't be a whiz bang new model, but it will suffice to learn on ,and I'll be able to afford decent turning tools and a grinder instead.
Incidentally, I've been enjoying reading the turning articles in the archives, which have spurred on my interest!
