>This bowl took me longer than any other piece I have done and all of the time was spent refining my skills in dealing with strange grain. Because of that, it is not quite the original form that was intended. This piece of maple has it all...ambrosia, curl, and spalting. I'm glad I didn't give up on it because it turned out to be some pretty wood. I am proud to say I never had to resort to the 80 grit gouge. Thanks for all your tips and help! I shot this before buffing because I didn't want the hot spots in the pic.
