Subject:
Have any of you built your own lathes?

>I have not been aware of this forum for very long, and don't have much of a feel for who is who here yet. I was wondering if any of you have built your own lathe, and or have made many of your tools.

I built myself a big lathe a couple of years ago, and have the parts ( A 1000 # headstock, and 5 hp motor.) for another, but don't have any need for another.

I have also made a lot of my hollowing tools. Most are kind of large, and ugly but I like the way they work. Do any of you do this and care to compare notes, or do you keep your ideas secret?
