Subject:
Black Oak Burl Bowl Large *PIC*

Les Robison
>Here is the mother bowl of the pair. I used a McNaughton to core out a small bowl. The original limb burl yielded two large bowls and weighed over 100 lbs. It was bone dry. It is 10" wide and 7" high with a 1/16" raised foot to create a shadow line. The walls are about 3/4" thick, which I thought showed the proper character for a rough and tumble burl like this. Finished with Watco Danish Oil. Comments are welcomed.
