MinWax Wipe-On Poly

I was experimenting on a new (for me) shape and was working on some maple that had some ugly green stains runing through. I also had some Miniwax Wipe-On Poly clear satin left over from a table I finished not to long ago. I figured I'd try this finish on this project. To my surprise the poly turned the green a rustic brown color. I turned three more sections of the same log (natural edged bowls) and the wood looks great with this poly.

I have no idea if this will work on any other maple log or even a different spieces. All I can say is if you have any wood that has an ugly green stain it can't hurt to give it a try. Let me know if it works.
