Need some advice on this one *PIC*

>Hi,

I haven't been doing bowls all that long and this is something I haven't seen before. This is some quarter sawn Sycamore that I was turning. It has these open areas near the end grain simular to worm holes but doesn't quite look like them. I thought that going deeper might remove them but it seems the deeper I go the more of them I expose. Is this going to be a design feature or is there something I can do about this?
