Need a source of supply

Dave Anderson Chester, NH
>I use Snakewood for making knife and awl handles for the hand tools I sell. The .75 x .75 x 6" blanks I use for knife handles have rare problems of cracking and checking to to moisture content change. This I can live with. My problem is the 1.5 x 1.5 lengths I use for the Awl handles. I've tried soaking in Preservation Solutions Wood Juice for as long as 3 weeks after rought turning a blank. Even when the part doesn't check or crack on the lathe (a 15-25% loss rate), I can apply finish, assemble the awl, and as much as 2 weeks to 3 months later have the finished awl crack. I've heard that the are folks out there that sell resin stabilised Snakewood. Anyone know of a source??
