Subject:
Pink Ivory

Keith Tompkins
>Just the mention of this wood makes some turners excited. I picked up a few pieces at the aaw symposium in Orlando, waiting for the right time to use it....

A new project calls for pink ivory, so I turned my first batch. Now I know why people like this stuff so much.....just beautiful wood to work with. Not as hard and dense as African Blackwood, about the same as holly. I noticed it is a bit brittle, but cuts cleanly and sands to a deep luster. this has to be one of my favorites!

I post a photo when completed.....
