Subject:
help with holly

>I just scored a holly tree the main trunk varying
between 17 and 21 inches in diameter (o.k. it's a gloat too).
Green, dense and heavy as lead. I microwaved a small saw cut piece which cracked up. sanded the side and end grain -very smooth. It got a pretty
white. spray deft gave it a slight amount of honey color.
My questions are (1) which drying method works best for holly - boil, DNA, or LDD ??

(2) what finish will keep the pretty white color??

Thanks
