>A little over a week ago, I broke down and bought the 2nd new chainsaw that I have owned in the last 27 years. I bought the Stihl MS 290 because it was $40 cheaper than the equivalent Husky with a tad more HP.
I have held off on posting about my purchase until I had a chance to test it out. I used it yesterday to break down some of this holly that I got a few weeks ago. This is some dense wood! I am pleased to report that this saw seems to be near perfect for my use. It has good power with the 18" bar, yet is light enough to allow me to make several consecutive cuts without having to set the saw down. I think I'm going to like this one!
