Subject:
A Rustic Burly Cup W/pic

>I turned this the other day when I had a spare 30 minutes to kill before having to close up the shop. I grabbed it from a box of cutoff burly goodies that Mike Schwing sent me. Thank you Mike!

I just love these little pieces that come about from wood that might otherwise have been tossed away. This is only about 3.3" diameter and about the same height. I think it's cherry? Mike? A few burned rings on the rim and foot. Watco Danish oil finish and Rockler Poly wipe on.

A little side note...I was at a local art supply store not too long ago and picked up a wire clay cutter that potters use to cut slabs of clay. It's a fairly thin wire that has two wooden dowels already attatched to both ends. It cost a whopping .99 cents or something like that. Great for burning rings.
