Subject:
Kelton hollowing tools

Jim Davies, Clayton, NJ
>I just recently picked up a set of Kelton hollowing tools, the 1/2" shanked set. I tried to use them today on two HV forms, about 5" high by about 2 1/2" diameter. I found these tools to be very aggresive when cutting green woodand , at least for me, hard to judge thickness with. I managed to cut both pieces in half with no trouble at all!.

Is this set too big for pieces this size or do I need to just spend a lot more time getting use to them? Any ideas would be helpful. I am using the Kelton hollowing gate right now, can not afford to go to the hollowing rig set up yet.
