Subject:
Electricity/extention cord/220 ??

>Hey Everybody,

For those of you who don't get over to the main fourm, I'm posting this here as well. I'm toying with the idea of moving my lathe to the center of my shop instead of being off to one side. My table saw is currently in the middle but is being used mainly for .....a table and not a saw. I can't bear the thought of getting rid of it though, so I'm wanting to swap positions. My question is...is there such a thing as a 220 extension cord? If so is that sort of a no-no. My lathe is a 2hp VS. Would that affect the electronics or anything? I'm sort of electrically challenged when it comes to anything beyond installing an outlet. I do have a couple of empty slots in my panel so it might be smartest to just run another 220 line.

I'd love to hear your opinions.

Thanks!

Jennifer
