buffing wheel question

>saw a good link for buffing wheels at some great prices.. my question for all of you is,, what is the appropriate buff to order for each buffing compound.. (what is the right ply etc, ) i had considered the beall from woodcraft because its fool proof with the color coding.. but why pay those prices when the wheels can be had for a fraction of that. here is the site with the decent prices.. they seem to have nearly every type of wheel available..
