Subject:
Lefties and Hollow Forms....

Since 10 percent of the people are lefties, there must be a lot of left handed turners out there. I'm curious, what tool do you use for turning hollow forms, and how do you use it? A turner needs to be ambidextrous, and most lefties are, but hollowing tools are different because most of them must be used with one hand.

I use a Stewart tool designed to be used left handed. I turned hollow forms on the outboard side of my General 260 for many years. I now turn on a custom left handed Nichols bowl lathe. Left hand spindle threads. and with the headstock on my right.

Lefties, what do you use?
