Subject:
Long-stemmed rose *PIC*

Keith Tompkins
>A new piece, I wanted the appearance of a rose bud sitting in a vase. This is a simplified version of my rose series.

The rose bud is Holly, hand carved with a single spiral. The stem and foot are African Blackwood, the thorns are rose thorns. The finial threads into the collar.

the form is spalted, figured maple, I have the whole tree. Wet turned and allowed to dry, then re-turned. The finish is a tung oil, poly mix.

Comments are welcome as always, Keith
