Subject:
Oak firewood, bottom first *PIC*

Mike Schwing from Md.
>No joke. This was in a huge pile of firewood. Mostly oak and ash and maple. I saw some telltale bark on this large chunk and took it to the bandsaw. Only piece of oak I've ever turned, not sure what kind it is, but it must have been from a knee from the way it is figured. About 11" wide, sanded to 12000 grit with Micro Mesh, oiled (Watco) and then sprayed with Target Coatings water based pre-cat lacquer. Nice stuff, no smell at all.
