>Are there expert turners who use dry hardwood?
I'm just starting and don't think I have the patience to work with green wood and wait for
months to complete a bowl. If I glue a few layers of hardwood together for a square blank should the end grain be on the outside and the cross grain be inside the bowl? I tried the other way and the result was a wipeout. I'm using a 12" Sears I bought second hand. If I enjoy turning as I expect I will move up to a serious lathe like a Vega. Any advice I can get will be greatly appreciated
