Subject:
Spalted Red Oak *PIC*

Ed Karch
>I picked up a piece of red oak to fill out a load of wood from the recycle center. They grind it all up into mulch, but allow you to rescue pieces. This set out all summer before I got to process and seal it. The sapwood had spalted leaving the more resistant heartwood intact. This called for an end grain bowl to show off this unusual effect.
