Subject:
1st Hollow form *LINK*

Don Henthorn
>This is my first attempt at a hollow form. Bowl is made from California Laurel with a walnut collar. I glued the walnut blank on the round piece and then drilled a 1" hole through the walnut and into the blank for as deep as my forstner bit would go. Then I hollowed through that hole. It ended up a 1 1/8" opening. The form is 5 1/4" X 3 3/4" and the walls are about 3/16" thick.

This was a practice piece because the blank had some cracks in it. I had to sand and refinish it twice because I let it get away from me when I parted it off from the glue block. I am too ashamed to tell you why.)-: The finish is simply Johnson's wax.

Thanks for looking.
